Survive the Gauntlet, and get your King to the throne to win.
72 pieces are poised for epic action. Work with your partner as you try to safely get one king to the throne (middle square). That's right, the king must move into the heat of battle! Use the King's Guard (New piece) to help shield your king(s) as they run the gauntlet.
NEW PIECE - The King's Guard
The King's Guard is an important new addition to the traditional set. It moves moves like a queen. Its purpose is to act as a shield (blocker) protecting you and your partners pieces in the heat of battle. The King's Guard may not take any piece from the board, and they may only be taken by an opposing King.
The King's Gauntlet board is new
Our patented 4 player chess game kit features 18 pieces per side. 2 x 9 back row spaces. We have added two new pieces to the traditional chess set. The 9th back row space is filled by our new piece 'The Kings Guard'.
Our board has odd numbered spaces, and creates 'The Throne',(middle square with the 'X'). A brand new concept when it comes to chess games
Pawns are able to turn 90 degrees and change direction on the diagonal squares that follow the X on the Throne square. You will see the wood grain also changes on the square change direction.
